Through our participation in the SBA Mentor/Protégé program and the subsequent formation of our approved 8(a) joint venture company, Amaxiam, LLC, we’ve expanded our capabilities. This approved relationship under the SBA program amplifies our offerings, ensuring our clients benefit from an enhanced range of services and expertise.

SBA 8(a) Certification

Certified firms in the 8(a) program can efficiently compete and receive set-aside and sole-source contracts. The 8(a) program is a robust program created to assist experienced firms owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged small business owners. The Federal government allocates and directs a percentage of spending dollars to small businesses. Certain federal agencies are instructed on how much of their contracting dollars should be awarded to small businesses.

While the main purpose of the 8(a) program is to develop small disadvantage businesses (SDB’s), it offers program managers a vehicle to significantly reduce the procurement time cycle since there is little delay in approving a sole source award. Another advantage is that it eliminates the rigorous specifications or evaluations of multiple bidders with little or no pre-award documentation.
